In the film Catfish, Nev Schulman, the documentary's star opened it to massive crowds while he was probably at home doing laundry. Angela Wesselman is troubled as she spends most of her days caring for her two handicapped stepsons and in building a web that's filled with deception until Catfish steps in. Wesselman admits she is a mastermind of deception. She poses as an eight year old artist named Abby and nineteen year old teenager named Megan. She then lures Nev into a romantic relationship.
Nav's hopes of dating the girl of his dreams comes crashing down when he learns that Megan does not exist. Megan and Abby both are characters created by Wesselman that are brought to virtual life on Facebook. Nav later admits he is fine with it and that she simply outsmarted him.
Furthermore, I believe that the creation of the Catfish show was brilliant because it gives people the chance in the real world to be brought to life by the solving of their problems. Catfish serves as a reality television show that allows people to have their social life adjusted. After Catfish, Wesselman later admits that she attempted suicide but it took her years of counseling to get out of it on her own. Catfish continues to this day sending and receiving emails from Wesselman. This show has ben a difference maker the many lives of people for a very long time.
