Double Life

Even though what Angela did to Nev is morally wrong, I did have sympathy for her. She did not mean to hurt Nev in any way. As we see in the film, she has a hard life already and the media was the only escape she saw. Having to take care of two disabled people and not having a very supportive husband may have led her to do what she did even though it was wrong. It's sad how she felt the need to make up a whole new life and live a double life because she did not like the reality she was in. I think that Nev handled the situation very well, because it would have been unfair of him to go off on her without first knowing her reasons and story. He first asked her to clear some things up and she did and he did not make her feel bad about herself than she already did. I did feel sorry for her but I also think there could have been other ways to deal with her unhappiness with her life.
There are some things that she did that I think she went over the boarder line. First she used her own daughter for her lies. I think she should have had more respect towards her daughter. Her daughter obviously did not know Nev and had no clue what was going on. It must have felt awkward for her to talk to Nev when she did not know him that well. If Angela was going to make up lies and live a double life I think that she should have kept her family out of it. And also from the moment she saw Nev at her door she should have started by telling him the truth and not keep adding lies. The lie that she says about her having cancer is not acceptable. I think she should have not lied about her health because she was trying to get some sympathy that she did not deserve. She disrespected every person that is living with cancer, being sick, and trying to fight for their lives. That lie was just disrespectful and unethical. I think that just like her daughter deserved her respect, all the people that are really struggling and dying also deserve some respect. If she had not used her daughter and disrespected sick people then I would have had total sympathy for her. But what she did was also wrong because she was messing with Nev's life and feelings. What Nev had with Angela's supposed daughter was real from Nev's part. It was a legit relationship, where they talked on a daily basis and developed a relationship. And it was all a lie so I think that she also disrespected Nev and hurt him with her lies, but I also do think she did not intentionally want to hurt him.

I do agree that while the pain she cased was unintentional she could've avoided it had she not tangled herself in a web of lies and disrespect. When the time came to be honest she should've told the truth, not makeup more lies, and whatever was going to happen, happens.

I agree as well. If your lies are called out, then time to give it up, not keep going.

I totally agree that Nev handled the situation well because he approached Angela with so much caution and care. I also think it was wrong for Angela to involve her daughter.
