Hiding Behind Technology

The show, "Catfish", is a popularized American TV show that airs on MTV. A person who is considered a "catfish"  creates fake personal profiles on social media sites using someone else's pictures and false biographical information to pretend to be someone other than themselves. The show got up and running after Executive Producer, Nev Schulman, documented a whole family that cat fished him. After the documentary was released, people became obsessed with the film. The documentary soon turned into episodes that America would soon watch religiously.
Through this documentary, you can see the effects that technology has on people social skills. Social media has become a place where anyone can technically be "anyone". It has allowed people to hide behind there computer or phone screens and let people be vulnerable to interacting with people.  People can be anyone they want to be, which leads to confusion, miscommunication, and heart break.
