When is it Going to be Enough?
In the Black Mirror episode "White Bear" we first see a girl waking up in a chair very confused and not knowing who she was. As we continue throughout the episode, we discover that she is apart of the murder of a young girl. We also find out that she is being punished for recording her boyfriend burning the little girl to death. They decide to punish her by erasing her memory everyday and making her life into a TV show where she goes on this journey everyday just to be reminded of the horrible thing she has done. Yes, I believe that she deserves to be punished, but not in this way. The way she was being punished was torture. The question that kept racing in my head when things started to unwind was, "Who has the time?" These people sit there and wait on this girl to make a certain move everyday, hoping that she will keep the same routine. My other question was, "Why are you wasting your lives?" There are many other things that you could be doing other than sitting there watching someone suffer everyday of their life. I don't understand why this was her punishment. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she was recording the little girl suffering, so they're going to record her suffering. In a way I feel as if it is fair, but I also think that one time would've done the trick. I am fully against torturing. I think that putting her in jail for a very long time would've been better than what was actually happening to her. Another question that came to my head was "How Long is Enough?" How long were they planning on doing this? We see at the end that they had already been doing it for three weeks, which in my opinion is three weeks too many. There are people out there committing the same crimes and you choose to focus on this one particular person. It's very unfair and unnecessary. I do admit that in the beginning I felt sorry for her,but as the truth started revealing, I was thinking that she got what she deserved. Then, at the end I saw how he had been doing it for a while, and I thought that no one deserved to get treated that way, but that innocent little girl didn't deserve to lose her life.

I totally agree with you. I didn't even think about how long they were going to keep it going. The justice park was totally unfair and no matter how long they planned on torturing her it was still wrong.
I agree that the punishment that Victoria suffered was inhumane. To relive this type of Groundhog-Day nightmare for weeks can be taxing on anybody.
