I could not help but feel bad for Angela. Her life was
already hard having to deal with two disabled kids and providing for her
family. It is sad that she did not have the opportunities to chase her dreams while
she was younger because life had gotten harder. I understand how a lot of
people could relate to her situation. On the other hand, her struggles should
not have led her to try to be someone she is not. She should not have fooled
Nev into believing that he had potentially found love and had gained an amazing
friendship with her daughter. It is not okay for people to mess with other's
feelings just for their own self-pity. Nev handled the situation very well. He
did not get mad or yell at Angela like most people would. He was very calm and
willing to hear her side of the story. Their relationship also was left on good
terms. I am glad that this documentary was turned into a television show so people can really understand that this actually happens all the time and gain more information about it to help prevent it from happening.

You've Caught the Wrong Fish
Catfish, the documentary, was a very interesting film to watch. Already knowing what it means to "catfish" someone, it was really good to see where it all originated. This film features a man named Nev who begins a friendship with an 8 year old girl named Abby. Their friendship started when Nev saw a painting that Abby did of one of his pictures. Their relationship consisted of Nev sending Abby pictures and her painting them and mailing them to his home. Then Nev started to gain a relationship with Abby's mom through Facebook. Soon Nev developed a more romantic relationship with Abby's older sister Megan. There were no suspicions about the family because he would often talk to them on the phone. What led him to wonder if they were truly who they claimed to be was the songs that Megan posted. She would post covers of songs for him to listen to. He searched them and found out that they were recorded by totally different people. There was further suspicion when Angela mentioned Abby's art show location and he never found information on it. So Nev along with his brother and friend decided to go find Angela. They discovered she was not who she claimed to be and that she was playing the role of Megan all along. She was also the one who was painting the portraits whom Nev believed to be Abby's work.
